Entrepreneurs like to create, not consult. So we leverage a network of entrepreneurs on your behalf, allowing them to pursue their own ventures while sharing their expertise with you when needed.
We also have built the expertise of many dozens of experts and entrepreneurs into Trep itself. Our system, and our relationship with you, is managed by…
Gene Kirila, Founder
Gene takes ideas and turns them into rapidly growing businesses. As the founder of Trep Business Development, his current focus is on helping clients adopt our operating system for aggressive growth companies.
We bring together the most effective processes, practices and habits from Kirila’s 20+ years of starting and growing companies. They are designed to help a company whose sales are in the $10 to $20 million range and accelerate its growth to $50 million and beyond, which is a transition many small firms never make.
Gene created VEC Technologies, which Fortune Magazine described as “the manufacturing counterpart of a McDonald’s hamburger outlet. It’s fast, inexpensive, efficient and environmentally friendly.” VEC has produced hundreds of millions dollars in products for the marine, heavy truck, plumbing, agriculture, and energy management industries. In the short video below, you can see the extent to which it has revolutionized the boating industry.
With a $500 deposit from a customer, halfway through college, Gene and a friend started Pyramid Fitness Machines in a barn. Nine years later, it was a $44 million company.
He also launched Efficient Machine Tool Sales, which reached the number 13 slot on Inc. Magazine’s “Fastest Growing Companies” list.
He was the youngest person ever to receive the “Heroes in Manufacturing” award from Fortune Magazine. TIME Magazine labeled his VEC process a “revolution” and wrote that it was “to manufacturing what DOS was to the personal-computer business in its early days.”
His companies have been the recipients of the coveted Malcolm Baldrige finalist awards. Gene is an alumnus of the highly competitive Birthing of Giants program sponsored by MIT, INC. Magazine and the Entrepreneur’s Organization.
